This document is on paper, authorized/written by Lord Baltimore's 'Keeper of the Seal', Horatio Sharpe, Esq.,  as representative of Charles Calvert, 6rd Lord Baltimore, granting 296 acres of 'vacant' and 'surplus' land to Giles Green.  The document was sealed using Lord Baltimore's seal, which later became the seal of the state of Maryland as well.

Maryland, ss. FREDERICK, absolute Lord and Proprietary of the Provinces of Maryland and Avalon, Lord
Baron of Baltimore, etc. TO ALL persons to whom these presents shall come GREET
ING in our Lord God everlasting.  KNOW YE That

Whereas Giles Green Of Charles County by his Humble Petition to our Agents for Management of Land Affairs within this Province did
set forth that he was Seized in fee of and in Two Hundred Acres part of a tract or Parcel of Land Called Green's Inheritance lying and being in
the County aforesaid  Originally on the fourteenth day of January Anno Domini Sixteen Hundred and Sixty six Granted unto Leonard, Robert, and
Francis Green for two thousand four hundred Acres under New Rent Contiguous to which the Petitioner had discovered some vacant Land and
being Desirous to Add the same Humbly prayed a Special Warrant to Resurvey his part of the aforesaid Tract for that Intent and Purpose and
that on a Return of such Certificate of Resurvey he making Good Rights to the Vacancy Added and Complying with all other Requisites Usual in
such Cases might have our Grant of Confirmation Issue unto him thereon which was Granted him and Accordingly a Warrant on the Sixth day
of April Seventeen hundred and Sixty one unto him for that Purpose did Issue In Pursuance Whereof it is certified into our Land Office that
his Part of the aforesaid Tract or Parcel of Land is Resurveyed by which it Appears the same Contains the Quantity of two hundred and fifty Acres
fifty Acres whereof is Surplus Included and that there is the Quantity of forty six Acres of Vacant Land Added for which said Surplus and Vacancy
he has paid and Satisfied unto Edward Lloyd Esq our Present Agent and Receiver General for our Use as well the sum of One Pound Sterling
for the said Surplus and the Sum of two Pounds Six Shillings Sterling Caution for the said Vacancy and also the Sum of five Shillings Sterling for some
Improvements mentioned to be made theron  Acording (sic) to Charles Lord Baron of Baltimore our great Grandfather of Noble Memory his Instructions
to Charles Carroll Esq his then Agent bearing Date at London the Twelfth day of September Seventeen hundred and twelve and Registered in our
Secretarys Office of our said Province together with a Paragraph of our Dear Fathers Instructions bearing Date at London the fifteenth day of December
Seventeen hundred and Thirty Eight and Registered in our Land Office We Do Therefore Hereby Grant and Confirm unto him the said Giles
Green all that his part of the aforesaid Tract or Parcel of Land now Resurveyed with the Vacancy Added and Surplus Included Reduced into one Entire
Tract and now called Giles's Part  Beginning for the out lines of the Resurvey by virtue of the before mentioned Warrant at two Bounded white Oaks
Standing together in the Given Line of the said Greens Inheritance by the old womans Branch on the South side thereof Running thence South forty
perches then West and by South forty five perches then South one hundred and Seventy two perches then North sixty five degrees East fifty two perches then
North Eighty four degrees East twenty Eight perches then East South East Ten perches then South seventy five degrees East twenty perches then South sixty
five Degrees East thirty Eight perches then East and by North twenty four perches then South eighty Seven Degrees East Twelve perches then North Seventy
three Degrees East forty one perches to the Dividing line between the said Giles Green and Thomas Green then with the said Line North four Degrees
West two hundred and thirteen perches to the old womans Branch then Down and with the said Branch the following Courses South forty one degrees
West fourteen perches then South sixty two Degrees West Twenty four perches then South fifty Seven Degrees West Sixteen perches then North Eighty five
Degrees West forty six perches then South Eighty Seven Degrees West sixty Eight perches thence with a straight Line to the first Beginning Containing
and now Resurveyed and laid out for two hundred and Ninety Six Acres

according to the Certificate of Survey thereof taken and returned into our Land-Office bearing Date the first day of June
Seventeen hundred and sixty one
and there remaining together with all Rights, Profits, Benefits, and Privileges thereunto belonging, Royal mines excepted,. To have and to hold the same unto him the said Giles
Green, his Heirs, and Assigns for ever, to be holden of Us and our Heirs as of our Manor of Panguiah in free and common Soccage, by Fealty
only for all Manner of Services, YIELDING and PAYING therefore, yearly, unto Us and our Heirs, at or our Receipt at the City of St. Mary's, at the two most usual Feasts in the
Year, viz. the Feast of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary,  and St. Michael the Arch Angel, by even and equal Portions, the Rent of Seven Shillings and Ten Pence
half penny Sterling, in Silver or Gold ; and for a Fine upon every Alienation of the said Land, or any Part or Parcel thereof, one whole Year's Rent, in Silver or Gold
or the full Value thereof in such Commodities as we and our Heirs or such Officer or Officers as shall be appointed by Us and our Heirs, from Time to Time, to collect and receive
the same, shall accept in Discharge thereof, at the Choice of Us and our Heirs or such Officer or Officers aforesaid : Provided, That if the said Sum for a Fine for Alienation,
shall not be paid unto Us and our Heirs, or such Officer or Officers aforesaid before such Alienation, and the said Alienation entered upon Record, either in the Provincial Court or
County Court where the same Parcel of Land lieth within one month next after such Alienation ; then the said Alienation shall be void and of no Effect.  Given under our Great
Seal of our said Province of Maryland, this twenty ninth Day of September Anno Domini Seventeen hundred and sixty two  Witness our trusty and well-
beloved Horatio Sharpe, Esq; Lieutenant-General and Chief Governor of our said Province of Maryland, and Chancellor and Keeper of the Great Seal thereof.
